condition than they were in the first place!

Our older MicroSound's DNoise softwareuses a large bank of up to 1024 filters to remove all sounds found in a customized template file. We control what is removed by creating a MicroEditor quarter to one second long template project containing segments of each sound to be removed. In a single pass, we can remove; hiss, clicks, pops, rumble, crackle, voices to make others voices more understandable, crickets and other natural sounds, etc. Multiple passes can even remove complex air-handling equipment noise without artifacts. We've recently used DNoise to drastically reduce complex background noise from 'on location' video shoots for GM and Sharon Sheet & Tube projects.

From classical music DAT masters to old records... even micro cassettes, DNoise cleans and restores without making a sound! We have saved many dialogue tracks from having to be recorded over again.  Unfortunately, any process has it's limits.

The noisier your materials the more difficult it is to process without creating minor artifacts. A general guideline for successful removal is for your program material level to be about 2/3 the ratio of the dynamic range OVER the noise to be removed. Where sound quality is not important, and bringing out a specific sound is, (ie: voices/words) we can produce impressive results. Repetitive waveforms like hiss and hum are easiest to remove... and in most cases up to 95%. Overall, the more complex the noise waveform and the louder the noise is in ratio to the program, the less effective the process.  By using notch filtering in combination with DNoise, we've solved some serious problems. In most all cases, our DNoise clients are very satisfied just to simply lower the noise.

With much success, we have used the DNoise process for forensic and legal applications. We've processed several courtroom tapes, restoring evidence and are using techniques to possibly help locate new evidence.

ONLINE AUDIO SERVICES & FORMATS
If you need custom music or sound effects, noise removal or other services, we can exchange audio files via the Internet in any format. We can work with .MP3, .WAV or .AIFF at any sample rate. We can also work with video formats, including most .AVI & MPEG codecs. We can extract audio from the video file, process it and then lay it back onto the video file. If .WAV or .AIF files become too large for online use, then CD quality MP3's can be used successfully. We can work with any standard sample rate or format audio. If your project requires large data file sizes or formats, then DAT, CDR or DVD is the best way to share files. All large file size storage media can be FedEx'd over night as required.
